Frequently asked questions

How do I add a card?

Tap +, then pick your store from the list (filtered by your country) or choose a custom card. Scan the barcode with your camera, choose a photo of the barcode, or type the card number manually. You can add front and back photos, notes, tags and an expiry date at any time.

The barcode won't scan at the checkout

Open the card and tap the barcode for full-screen mode — TapPass turns your screen brightness to maximum while it's shown. Also try:

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Your cards are stored on your device only.

How do I back up my cards or move to a new phone?

Go to Settings → Backup & Restore → Export Backup and save the file somewhere you can reach from your new phone (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email). On the new phone, install TapPass and choose Settings → Backup & Restore → Import Cards, then pick the backup file. Backups include cards, logos and photos. Backups work across iPhone and Android. Keep the file somewhere private — it isn't encrypted.

Can I import my cards from Catima?

Yes. In Catima, export your cards without a password, then in TapPass go to Settings → Backup & Restore → Import Cards and choose the exported .zip file. Cards already in TapPass are skipped.

How do I add a card to Apple Wallet? (iPhone)

Open the card and tap Add to Apple Wallet. To have Wallet suggest the pass when you're at the store, tap Add Current Location while you're there before adding the pass (location permission is needed for this step only).

How do I add a widget?

Open a card in TapPass and turn on Used as Widget, then:

You can also long-press the TapPass app icon for quick actions, or use Siri Shortcuts on iOS.

How do I turn on App Lock?

Go to Settings → Reminders & Security → App Lock. It uses Face ID, fingerprint or your device passcode, so one of these must be set up on your device first.

I'm not getting expiry reminders

Make sure the card has an expiry date, Settings → Reminders & Security → Expiry Reminders is on, and notifications are allowed for TapPass in your device settings. Reminders arrive 7 days before and on the day a card expires.

How do I change my ad consent?

Go to Settings → Privacy Settings → Manage Ads Consent to review your choices. On iPhone, you can also allow or deny tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Delete a single card (and its photos) from the card's options, or long-press the card list to enter edit mode. To remove everything, uninstall the app — all TapPass data is stored on your device, so nothing remains with us. Remember to delete any backup files you exported, and remove passes from Apple Wallet separately.
